Paris, February 14, 2025 – Padri Thomas #Nahimana, a Rwandan priest and one of Most influential Rwandan political figure in exile, has issued a scathing letter to Cardinal Fridolin Besungu Ambongo, denouncing Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his alleged role in the ongoing violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Great Lakes region.

In the strongly worded appeal, Nahimana accuses Kagame of orchestrating mass killings and destabilizing the region through proxy militias, including the M23 rebels. He warns the Congolese Cardinal against engaging in peace talks with M23, claiming it is a Rwandan-backed terrorist organization responsible for atrocities in Eastern Congo.

The letter also takes direct aim at the Catholic Church’s stance, criticizing Ambongo’s “Pacte Social pour la Paix” initiative, which aims to facilitate dialogue. Nahimana argues that true peace will only come with the total defeat of Kagame and his forces, calling on Congolese leaders to stand firmly with President Félix Tshisekedi in resisting external aggression.

#NEWS UPDATE |🇨🇩 Revolutionary artist #Delcat Idengo has been shot dead in Goma by RDF Militias Supported by M23 rebels.

Gunmen affiliated with the RDF Militia attacked the musician while he was filming a music video denouncing the same Rwandan-backed movement (M23), a song he had posted online just hours earlier.

In the song, he wore a military uniform and chanted, "M23 and ADF are the same thing: land occupation policy in Kivu."

The tragic incident took place near Kilijiwe, Goma. Witnesses confirmed that Delcat Idengo succumbed to his injuries on the spot. He had only recently been released from Munzenze prison, located at the entrance of Goma, an area under #RDF/AFC/M23 control.

His death has sent shockwaves across North Kivu. The committed artist was fatally shot on the afternoon of Thursday, February 13, 2025.
